Dr. Maryam Khatami is a California-licensed Doctor of Optometry with a strong background in ocular disease management and primary eye care. She completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at Western University of Health Sciences, where she was recognized with the College of Optometry Merit Scholarship, the OEP Clinical Curriculum Award, and membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometry Honor Society.
Dr. Khatami brings more than a decade of diverse experience in optometry, having practiced in both the United States and Iran. She has provided care in private practices, community health centers, and ophthalmology settings, equipping her with a broad range of expertise in diagnosing and managing complex eye conditions. Her training includes rotations in retina care, specialty contact lenses, glaucoma management, and pediatric vision therapy. She also has experience in co-managing pre- and post-operative patients for cataract and refractive surgeries.
Currently, in her practices, Dr. Khatami is dedicated to delivering thorough, compassionate, and personalized eye care to patients of all ages. Her approach emphasizes patient education, individualized treatment plans, and improving quality of life through better vision. In addition to clinical practice, she has contributed to the academic community as a tutor at Western University, mentoring optometry students and fostering future leaders in the profession.
